Today is the first round election day.. Instead of hauling
myself early in the morning to go home to vote, however, I decided to stay
in my comfy bed at my kost.. I'm not going to spend Rp140,000 for cabfare
just to support some lameass political party..
This is not about being an irresponsible citizen.. This
beloved country of mine is getting deeper and deeper in the gutter..What
would you call a country where the family of the former 32-year
dictator/corruptor can form a political party.. where a corrupt convict can
still lead one of the biggest political party and run for presidency.. I
refuse to participate in the last two elections, because I don't want to
contribute to the craziness..I don't care what other people say, I simply
won't insult my intelligence by even considering to vote for one political
party over the other...
I don't think Indonesia is any longer a country.. It became
a circus a long time ago.. When the killings of Trisakti students became
the news of the past.. When the trial of the dictator Soeharto was stopped
"due to his health condition".. The craziness continues.. And
since I'm in this circus, I'm considered one of the circus freaks.. Well,
this circus freak refuses to be a fool.. Let them all be the fool, not me..
I'm not participating in the stupid election!
None of the many political parties offer any feasible,
humane program anyway.. They all promise the same thing: political
cleansing, better economy, and some other bullshit we've been expecting to
change for years.. Yet, nothing can be said about those so-called
"political agenda".. Even when PDI-P won the last election and
Megawati became president.. the political situation remains at its ridiculous
state when Akbar Tanjung got away from conviction and the Cendana family
formed a political party, the economy is getting worse by the day because
the government care about 'busway' more than the 'war' that's been going on
in Aceh.. I can continue bitching, but what's the point, really...
